Our Mission

Willamette Horse Outreach Alliance (WHOA) is dedicated to the care, rehabilitation, and sanctuary for abandoned, neglected, abused or elderly equines. Focused on:

* Caring for our current and permanent sanctuary residents

* Working within the horse community to help find resources for horse owners other than auction. Such as networking, fundraising and euthanasia when necessary; as well as support and education.

* Provide rehabilitation, training and re-homing for horses that just need a little help to become healthy and learn new skills to become a better riding partner or companion.

*Work with owners to network equines needing new homes or pre-auction intercept. To help slow the progression of “kill pen flipping” and/or abuse from neglect.

Future plans to build a community hay bank with donations to provide hay or grain to community members in dire or emergency need.

🚨Stepping up on my soapbox today. This will be a rambling post of frustration. We were alerted about this mare yesterday and asked if we had any way to help her. Even as we are maxed out in space and funds, we didn’t hesitate to say yes.

Hey Florie fans, here’s a 9 day check in. She is gaining weight, staying out with the herd in the pasture during the day, and over all doing well. She settled right in and has been an absolute pleasure to be around. Such a kind sweet girl.
